At Linguineo, we put every new feature, product, and partnership in front of real learners before it goes live.
One of the most valuable moments? Seeing students interact with our voicebot for the first time in the classroom and hearing what they really think.
We share this report with data from two user testing sessions in secondary schools in Belgium and The Netherlands, where students practiced speaking French and German with Linguineo’s voicebot.
Here are the highlights.
- 87% said speaking to the voicebot was less stressful than speaking to a person in their second language; one of the biggest barriers to L2 speaking practice, removed.
- Nearly 80% read the corrective feedback, and of those, 87% said it helped them learn from their mistakes.
- Over 91% believed it would help them get better at speaking in the L2, and the same amount thought it could help them do better in oral tests.
- They simply enjoyed it. Spontaneously and repeatedly, students said talking to our bot was fun. Several said they felt like they were having a real conversation. One student wrote: “It made my day.” Aww, this makes our day too.
